Allied health Sciences deals with all kind of diagnostic techniques which are being used in the medical sector and are very crucial for the treatment of the patients. Allied Health Sciences is a multidisciplinary course of study leading to Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Allied Health.
PIMS College of Health Science provides a very strong foundation that will equip graduates with skills, knowledge and experience necessary to fulfill emerging health workforce roles in the health industry. These exciting programs reflect the contemporary direction of the national agenda on health and emphasize a multi-disciplinary approach.
Allied Health professionals are involved in a range of settings such as public and private hospitals, emergency, surgical, maternity and ICU departments, services such as outpatient services, specialist care including geriatrics and mental health, community health areas and other non-health settings. Working alongside doctors and nurses, there is an increasing demand for such professionals.
PIMS College of Health Sciences is located 12 Km from Pondicherry on the East Coast Road. The campus houses a 740 bed teaching hospital (PIMS) on 32.89 acres of landscaped campus in Kalapet Village in Pondicherry.
The college has an intake of 140 undergraduates each year (B.Sc. MLT, B.Sc. MRIT,B.Sc. PA, B.Sc. DT, B.Sc.(OT & AT) & BPT). This creates an informal, close-knit, amicable and supportive environment that encourages hard work and academic achievement. The Health Science College and PIMS have lecture halls with a seating capacity of 500 with sophisticated sound system, library, NABL accredited Labs with distinct collection of medical, bio medical, technical, behavioral science, management and computer science books including journals of national and international repute and computer lab with internet access for the students.
