Anti-Ragging

The College of Health Sciences, PIMS, upholds a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all students. The Anti-Ragging Committee ensures strict implementation of anti-ragging measures in compliance with the guidelines set by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Supreme Court of India.

Objective:

The primary goal of the Anti-Ragging Committee is to prevent, prohibit, and address any incidents of ragging within the campus and associated facilities, ensuring the well-being of students.

Definition of Ragging:

As per UGC regulations, ragging includes any form of mental or physical abuse, harassment, or intimidation inflicted on new students by seniors or peers.
This may include:

1. Verbal abuse or insults
2. Physical assault or forced activities
3. Psychological harassment or humiliation
4. Any act that affects a student’s mental well-being or dignity

Reporting and Redressal Mechanism:

1. Immediate Reporting: Any student facing or witnessing ragging can report it directly to the Anti-Ragging Committee, faculty members, or administrative authorities.
2. Confidential Complaints: Complaints can be lodged in person, via email principalchs@pimsmmm.net, or through the designated anti-ragging complaint box.
3. Investigation & Action: The committee will conduct a prompt inquiry and take appropriate disciplinary action against those found guilty.
